The ISF-150B-50MP2 offers new advanced hydroforming capabilities needed for complex part designs. Similar to conventional deep-draw forming, our press shapes metal sheets into a predefined geometry by using a fluid under high pressure.
Hydro Mechanical Deep Drawing Advantages
Instead of a conventional deep-drawing die, a pressurized fluid is in contact with the blank resulting in improved surface quality.
Hydro Forming Advantages
With this process components can be manufactured in a single step. Typical components from the automotive industry are suitable for hydro mechanical deep-drawing, such as contoured parts, such as tank shells, car roofs and engine hoods.
High Dimensional Accuracy
This process achieves maximum material deformation with uniform sheet thickness. In deep drawing, after the mold is released, material tends to return to its original shape. However this process avoids rapid stress on the material, preventing this from happening.
Reduce Tooling Costs
A great advantage of the Hydro forming process is that only the negative die is needed. Complex geometries can be formed with only one tool saving valuable time and resources on upstream machining requirements. This allows for a drastic reduction in tooling costs and will give you a significant advantage in your production process.
Rigid Structural Design
Four oversized columns deliver perfect parallel and vibration free movement during press action. This press is solidly built with an all steel CO2 welded frame ensuring excellent rigidity and minimizing deformation during the forming process.
Accurate Slide Positioning
Balluf linear position transducers provide highly accurate and reliable position feedback for closed-loop control of hydraulic cylinders. Increased control of pressure and force allow for more consistent and flexible motion resulting in less wasted or rejected parts.
The ISF Hydro forming press control panel design is clear and easy to use. The additional touch screen powered by our in house software makes programming settings and inputting parameters a breeze, significantly reducing operator set up time.
With the ISF press, the control station is separate from the main press body ensuring the operator can work at a safe distance and chose the correct vantage point for monitoring press action. Adjustable height and castors on the base allow for flexible positioning set up in your work shop.
Internal Fluid Pressure
Internal fluid pressure must be high enough to stretch the material until the part completely forms. The fluid-pressure intensification pressure system consists of a low-pressure, high flow rate filling system, along with a high-pressure intensifier to raise the fluid pressure to forming levels.
A system is in place to re-circulate the water back to the pressure chamber after each part, the pump builds pressure before the slide goes down and proportional valves allow for accurate pressure control.
Rexroth Proportional Valves
The use of high quality Rexroth proportional pressure relief valves ensure precise pressure control of the hydraulic circuit.
The design of this machine ensures all excess fluid from the mold area will not drop onto the work shop floor but instead will drain into a hydraulic reservoir tank for re use.
Once internal cavity pressure is relieved, excess flow is returned to a hydraulic reservoir tank, improving machine efficiency and manufacturing productivity.
Manually activated pump ensures all slide ways are properly lubricated for long term trouble free operations.
